Electricity can do much more than just make bulbs light.

In this circuit, when the switch is closed, the buzzer will sound, the motor will turn, the bulb will light and get warm, the compass will turn, the salty water will begin to bubble, and the coil will pick up paper clips.

So electricity can be connected to heat, light, sound, magnetism, chemical change and movement.
