Q1: What are the sizes of the forces when something is balanced?

[Answer]

If there are forces all around, why are most things stationary? The answer is that the force trying to move something is balanced by a force of equal size stopping it.

There are many forces that do this. For example, if you push a chair, it will not move at first because a force called friction opposes, and balances what you do. The chair does not sink into the ground because the force of gravity is opposed and balanced by a force in the ground.
