Q1: What allows us to see the Moon?

The Moon is a ball of rock about a quarter the size of the Earth. It travels around, or orbits, the Earth once in roughly 28 days.

The Moon looks bright, but it doesn't have any light of its own. What you call moonlight is sunlight reflected off the Moon's surface.

Because so much light is reflected from the Moon, sometimes you can see the Moon by day as well as night.
