You can make an ice bowl by getting two slightly different sized freezer-safe (say pyrex) bowls of the same shape.
Lightly grease the inside of the larger one and the outside of the smaller one.
Fill the larger one with water and then push down the smaller one until it sits inside the larger. Now put everything into a freezer. The water between the bowls will turn to ice (showing that liquid has turned to solid) and you can remove the glass bowls and hold an ice bowl.
You can fill the ice bowl with water. But what soon happens?
