All kinds of materials can be strong. Stone is a strong material that can be used to make tall buildings.

Steel is a strong material that is used to make motor cars.

Rubber is strong too, even though you can push it out of shape.

Some shapes make materials even stronger – the bowl shape in the picture is thin, but strong.
