Make up the simple circuit and then try seeing what happens when you turn one battery around as in diagram 3.

Put the batteries back the same way and then make sure the circuit works again.

Now take one wire off one side of the bulb as diagram 2. What happens?

Note: every time you change a circuit, always put it back in working order. This practice is vital.
