Q1: Why is DNA called a blueprint for life?

[Answer]

In most of our cells there is a tiny part called a nucleus. This contains tiny threads called chromosomes. They are made from long chains of chemicals which are linked in pairs and twisted round so that they look like a microscopic spiral staircase.

These twisted pairs of chains make a substance called DNA. It contains instructions, or genes, for how the whole body should develop.
