The lungs and the heart work to bring fresh oxygen to the body cells and to take away waste carbon dioxide from the cells.
The heart is a double pump. It sends out blood under pressure to arteries then capillaries. The blood drains back through veins.
Arteries are red because they have oxygen in the blood and veins are blue because they carry no oxygen.
