Q: Who are the people carrying the Sikh flags?

Sikh holy days often involve outdoor festivals where the Guru Granth Sahib is taken out of the gurdwara and paraded around the neighbourhood, accompanied by an honour guard, music, songs, and an outdoor langar.

Some festivals begin with a continuous reading of the entire Guru Granth Sahib. This can take 48 hours and is done by a group of people who each take turns.
