Q1: What was the home of a Viking family called?

[Answer]

All Vikings lived in small single-roomed huts. Even the wealthiest lived in one-roomed huts, together with their animals. These were often home to more than one family. They are known as longhouses.

Longhouses were made of wood, with thatched roofs in some places, and stone with birch bark and turf roofs in others. It all depended on what was to hand.
