Pembridge is a village on an ancient road. The road runs along the dry land just above the river floodplain.
A few houses lead down to an old ford over the river. The village grew up where the ford-crossing road met the valley road.
This village is mostly strung out along the valley road, its main building being aninn and next to that a covered market.
