Life for Anglo-Saxons was based around living in villages.

Villagers had to be able to protect themselves and often had a stone watchtower. As they became Christians they also built churches.

Most buildings were simple and had just one room. Inside was simple furniture.

Food was also simple, mainly of cereals and vegetables and very little meat.
