Roman times were some of the most important in the history of England.
The Romans first arrived under Julius Caesar in 55 BC, and finally came to stay in 43 AD, and then ruled much of the land for the best part of 400 years.
They brought their Roman ways to our land, with fine buildings, roads walls and forts. Much of this can still be seen today...
