Q1: What was 'Sumer is icumin in' all about?

[Answer]

Music was an important part of life in medieval times. It was part of all church life, but it was also a way for people to enjoy themselves.

These two types of singing were not as separate in medieval times as they are today. The same song was often used for religious and entertainment purposes.

Besides medieval 'karioke', people also looked forward to Mystery Plays – always religious – such as the story of Noah's Flood.
