Q1: What did the Maya and Aztec eat?
[Answer]

The Maya and Aztec grew all their own food. The most important crop was maize (sweet corn). They also grew beans and squash, chillies and tomatoes. These are still important parts of the Mexican diet to this day.

They fished in their rivers lakes and ate fish and seafood. They also ate waterweed, which was made into a sort of cake. The Maya and Aztec even ate insects such as crickets, worms, ants, and larvae (which all have lots of protein).
