Q1: How did the Maya and Aztec travel?
[Answer]

When merchants travelled, they went in convoys, known as caravans, and transported their goods either by canoe (if it was possible) or by using slaves. They carried large amounts of goods on their backs.

If the caravan was likely to pass through dangerous territory, warriors accompanied the goods to provide protection.
