Q1: What was the front of the Tabularium used for?
[Answer]

At one end of the Forum on the edge of the Capitol Hill, was a huge multi-storeyed building, the public records office where the offices of many city officials were also found. This was called the Tabularium.

It was built in 78 BC and made of brick with marble facing sheets. In the side facing the Forum there were many alcoves, and statues of famous people were placed in them.

It must have been a stunning building when seen from the Forum.
