Remember, we have seen in our tour that the ancient Egyptians lived beside the Nile. The earliest capital was Memphis, the later capital was Thebes.
Many thousands of people lived in the kingdom, although there are few remains of ordinary houses.
Most of what survives to see are ruined temples and pyramids. Many grave goods can also be seen in museums. Certainly much more remains to be discovered.
