Isis is the god of women, a mother goddess. She is shown as a beautiful woman wearing the Sun disk. Isis was the only god worshipped by all Egyptians in all parts of the country. She was prayed to for guidance and peace.
Isis was the daughter of Nut and Geb, the sister to Osiris, Set, and Nephthys, and the mother of Horus. In the Legend of Osiris it is she who travels the world to find all the pieces of his body and it is she who brings him back to life with the aid of Thoth. Isis represents all the qualities of women. The spells and rituals cast by Isis were collected into The Book of the Dead.
