The Battle of Britain was one of the world's most important air battles and it lasted for several months.

It happened at the start of the war. Germany had to destroy the British air force before it could be invaded.

The RAF were outnumbered but fought bravely and kept Hitler at bay.

Then Hitler turned his planes on British cities instead of airfields and gave the RAF a chance to become stronger.
