It's a good idea to try to find out a lot about one special part of where you live, rather than try to cover too much ground. In many cases the easiest thing to study will be a historic building, such as a church. This is because people will probably have written about it already. You may be able to find old maps, too.
Don't just find out about the history, however, but also write about, or make a play about, what life might have been like at each part of the history.
