KLAMATH RIVER

Length: 400 kilometres (250 miles)

The Klamath is a river of the Pacific Northwest. Its headwaters are in Upper Klamath Lake in southern Oregon. From here the river flows southwest until it meets the Trinity, in California. It then changes direction and flows northwest to the Pacific Ocean at Requa.

Klamath Falls lie at the outlet of Upper Klamath Lake. The town of the same name is the largest settlement on the river.

The upper Klamath is exploited for hydroelectric power and to supply water for irrigation.
