EUROPEAN RIVERS

The longest rivers in Europe flow through Russia to the Black Sea. In western Europe, the Rhine is the longest river which, together with the Elbe, flow to the North Sea. The Danube is the only east-flowing river, eventually discharging to the Black Sea.

The rivers flowing south from the Alps, like the Po and the Rhone, have steep, shorter courses.
