AFRICAN RIVERS

The main rivers of Africa are the Nile, the Congo, The Niger and the Zambezi.

The Congo (Zaire), the Nile and the Zambezi, each have at least one of their principle headwaters in the highlands of East Africa. Because many of Africa's rivers pass through desert lands, their reliable flows are especially valued and most rivers have large dams on their courses.
