Mud goes with a flood:3

If you could look inside of a flooded house once the water level had gone down, you would find everything coated in mud.

There might be sand on the floors, but that will dry out and can be swept away. But the mud clings. All you can do is to throw every muddy thing away - which is one reason floods are so costly.
