Gone snoozing
Flashback style
Sammy was just sitting, doing nothing much. It was warm and he was a bit anxious about being seen. So he tucked his red hands and feet tightly beneath his green body, closed his red eyes and prtended to be part of the green leaf on which he sat.
He began thinking of the time a lovely blue insect walked past him, so that all he had to do was to stick out a tongue and help himself to a nice meal.
Just then the leaf started to tremble. Sammy cautiously opened one eye just a little. Nothing in sight. It must have been a breeze.
He closed his eye and though back over a month to when a green python had glided by. The leaf he was on had trembled then, and so did Sammy, for he would have been just a tiny morsel to a python. But, as it happened, the python had fixed its eyes on something else a larger chameleon, so Sammy had been saved.
He cautiously opened an eye again as that memory had given him the shakes. But after a quick look around, it all seemed safe, so Sammy went back to snoozing on his favourite leaf.
