Report on where red-eyed tree frog's live and their future

(report writing style)

We were asked to find out about where the re-eyed tree frog lived and if it was in any danger.

We went to the forests of Costa Rica for this study. Having studied the frogs we found that they mostly lived in a wide variety of trees. We found that they often chose lower, rather than higher branches. We found that they preferred to be within a short distance of water, such as a pond, but that they did not live in the pond. Because rainforests are very humid and there is frequent rain, the red-eyed tree frog does not need to live in a pond in order to keep its skin moist.

We did not find any tree frogs living on the ground, so we conclude that trees are needed for the frog's survival.

There is a lot of timber cutting in the rainforests and as more trees are cut down, and the rainforest made more open, the moisture in the air will get lower and this may have a bad effect of the skin of the frogs. At the moment, there is still plenty of trees for them to use, but they need continuous forests, not single trees, and so we were concerned that the places the frogs live in might become scarce in the future.
