The hardest form of pollution to deal with is air pollution.
Remember that we said sewage was easy to deal with because it was always trapped in pipes. Well, this is just the opposite: we release it into the air by driving vehicles, heating homes and making electricity and the polluting gases then wrap themselves around the globe in ever level of the atmosphere. There they begin to wreak havoc as ozone holes, global warming and acid rain.
