and have little explosive violence. If, on the other hand, the magma is sticky and full of gases that cannot easily escape, then, as the magma reaches the surface, the gases will burst out of the liquid, throwing
it out into the air and producing

Volcano—Kilauea, Hawaii, is an active volcano, with the last major eruption occurring in 1984.
