Way of the Cross

What is Way of the Cross? TheWay of the Cross is the route taken by Jesus on leaving the Roman fort in Jerusalem, and making His way to the site of crucifixion at Golgotha (now marked by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre).

The Way contains markers corresponding to the Stations of the Cross. People stop at these markers in the street known as the Way of Sorrows (Via Dolorosa). The markers help people imagine the route to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
