Resurrection

What is the Resurrection? The Resurrection of Jesus is the Christian belief that Jesus miraculously returned to life on the Sunday following the Friday on which He was crucified.

The resurrection.

The Resurrection of Jesus is a main belief of Christians, and people say it when they say in the Nicene Creed: "On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures".

The New Testament tells of how, In the New Testament, after the Romans crucified Jesus, He was anointed and buried in a tomb by Joseph of Arimathea. Then, on the third day, God raised Him from the dead[. This was the Resurrection. After that, Jesus visited His Apostles and others to tell them what they should do next. Then He returned to heaven, to sit at the right hand of God.

The day for celebrating the Resurrection is Easter Sunday, which is just 3 days after the Crucifixion, which is remembered on Good Friday. You will know that this all took place two thousand years ago at the time of the Jewish feast of Passover, so that is why Easter and Passover are roughly at the same time.
