Rainbow

What is a rainbow? A rainbow is a curved pattern of colours across the sky.

A rainbow.
Video: a video is available.

A rainbow forms when the sun shines through raindrops. The raindrops split the light into its separate colours. This happens billions of times in all the raindrops, and you see it as a continuous pattern.
