Lower Egypt

What is Lower Egypt? Lower Egypt is the part of Egypt from the Nile Delta to the deserts above Thebes.

Ancient Egypt was a very long country that followed the River Nile. In its early years it was divided into two kingdoms: Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt.

Lower Egypt was based on the Nile delta, which was very fertile. Powerful kings lived there including those who built the pyramids.
