Battle of Kadesh

What was the Battle of Kadesh? The Battle of Kadesh was the battle, in Ancient Egyptian times, between the Egyptians under Ramesses II and the Hittites.

In 1290 BC pharaoh Seti I died and Ramesses II became pharaoh. He immediately started a war against the Syrians. This war included the famous Battle of Kadesh which Ramesses II claimed to have won and which he had sculpted on many walls including the temple at Karnak.
