Garden

What is a garden? A garden is a managed plot of land attached to a house, or a public open space in a town, where there are lawns and flowers.

A garden in summer, with lawns and flower beds.

Gardens are places where people grow flowers, bushes and trees for pleasure. Many houses have small gardens attached to them.

Larger areas that can be used by all people are often called parks, but they may still be called gardens because their origin was to look like a garden. Kensington gardens in London is an example of a park named a garden.
