What is a foxglove? A floxglove is a perennial woodland plant with tall flowering stems made of trumpet-shaped flowers.

Foxglove grows in Europe, Asia and Africa. It is also known as digitalis. It grows in acidic soils, in partial sunlight to deep shade in woods, mountain slopes and hedgerows. It is a pioneer plant, quickly growing where a space has been left, for example, due to logging or a tree falling over.

Digitalis is a medicine for treating heart complaints.
