Disciple

What is a disciple? A disciple is the chosen students of Jesus. Most later became apostles.

The Last Supper; Jesus and his disciples.

The term disciple refers to the special students of Jesus as described in the New Testament Gospels and Acts. There were many people who followed Jesus, but only a few became disciples, that is the chosen 'inner circle' of students.

Some disciples were given a mission to be undertaken after Jesus' death, making them apostles. This meant they were charged with telling everyone the Good News (or Gospel) to the world.
