Diamond Jubilee

What is a diamond jubilee? A diamond jubilee is the sixtieth anniversary of some important event, such as a wedding or the length of time a monarch has been on the throne.

The Queen and guests on a royal barge, as part of a flotilla that made its way down the river Thames.

The diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II was to celebrate her long time on the throne. Ironically, it was a rainy day, just as her coronation had been. Nevertheless, it was a spectacular day as the books below will explain.
