Decades

What is a decade? The recent past is often thought of as periods of ten years, or decades.

Queen Elizabeth II is the single person most associated with all of the decades since the Second World War.

For many history purposes, people think of the time since the Second World War as being divided into decades. So, for example, people talk about the forties, fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties and (humourously) the noughties.
