Cove

What is a cove? A cove is a small bay.

A busy cove.

Coasts are made of places that jut out, called headlands, and places that dip in. If the place that dips in is very wide, it is called a bay. If it is a small inlet, it is called a cove.

There is no special size to a cove, but as a rule of thumb, coves make very sheltered places for boats, while bays often let in the full force of the wind.
