What is a celebration? A celebration refers to the commemorating of some special day, such as a holy day, a birthday or the anniversary of some historical event.

People celebrate in a huge number of ways. We can think of celebrations as being basically of two kinds, however, those which are connected with religion, such as Christmas, and those connected to some no-religious event, such as a birthday and Guy Fawkes Night.
