Bamboo

What is bamboo? Bamboo is a form of tropical grass with jointed stems.

Bamboo is the largest member of the grass family. It grows in tropical areas in bogs and other wet places.

Bamboo stems are hollow and very hard. They can be cut and sharpened with a knife and they can be used for building houses. In some countries bamboo is used instead of scaffolding when building office blocks.
