Balanced diet

What is a balanced diet? A balanced diet is a range of different kinds of food that give you just enough of all the things your body needs, but not so many as to cause you to become fat.

There are many ways you can get a balanced diet. Most traditional diets are balanced, no matter where they are in the world. Diets only become unbalanced when you eat too much of one type of food, for example because of famine, or because you choose to eat only fatty foods.
